After the words left your mouth, the dragon you were staring upon suddenly shifted; rocks crumbled off of her body and onto the ground before you. She bowed her head to level herself with you and began to speak: "Of my creation you seek, is just before your feet—" Her tail swept the ground beneath you, you stepped back out of surprise only to see a grave uncovered from where you once stood. The name was faded, barely legible however the epitaph was still carved deep into the stone, "from this planet which you sculpted much beauty, may the soil of this world treasure you as you did it." |
| You glanced back up at the dragon who seemed to stare at the grave with sorrow, she noticed your stare and shifted her gaze into the distance, "I was once nothing but stone and ore, I had no shape, no lineaments, no life. That was until my creator crossed these lands; as he chiseled away at the rocks he used in my formation, he realized there was one artform he had yet to master, life." You saw movement from the corner of your eye, as you scanned around for the source you realized there was a much smaller statue next to the dragoness. However, this one moved less frequently and seemed less lively. The dragoness flicked her tail at the small statue, "I was not the first creation, many came before me however..." Her tail lightly patted the statue which suddenly shifted towards you as you blinked, "many of us were destroyed out of fear. We are all that remains of our creators work or at least as far as we know." |

She let out a huff of frustration before jumping onto a weathered, almost completely wrecked column there were more words engraved which read, "Aias / meaning of earth and land." The dragoness gave a slight smile, "now friend if you don't mind, I must aid to my duties and stand guard." The dragoness stood still for a few moments before seemingly turning back into a lifeless looking statue, you couldn't help but be left with more questions and wonder what more there was to her story. |
