Yoko has always been fascinated with the lords. Not in the worship or devout kind of way that all villagers of Galico Glade seemingly are, but fascinated with the thin line of separation between mortals and lords. As a hatchling, she's asked every adult and other dragon she could about this, and it wasn't until a particularly scathing remark by a priestess told her that she shouldn't question such important and fundamental matters. "It's just how it goes", a dragon says to her one day. And Yoko was angered by that. So angry that she starts training under their head apostle of Kukulcan, Saluna, to learn how and why the new lords are so different than mortal dragons. After all, new lords were mortal dragons once. And so she trained and trained, memorizing rituals and chants and practices for a god Yoko saw no divinity in. One blistering afternoon, when the sun seemed to singe and burn her soft scales, does she go up to the top of temple, the closest to Kukulcan himself allegedly, to perform her daily duties as an apprentice. But every step she takes towards her destination, does the sun seemingly get hotter and hotter and hotter, until Yoko finds herself face to face with Kukulcan staring at her, a fragment of the sun clasped in his claws. Normally, dragons wear blindfold when praying at the top of the temple to Kukulcan, in fear of his Light blinding and searing the eyes of mortals, but Yoko was able to stare right into his white, bright eyes. And because Yoko was no normal dragon, she began badgering the new lord with questions, how did he become a lord, why did he become a lord, what made him different than any other lord, all while never bowing her head in Kukulcan's presence. The god simply narrows her eyes at her and disappears in a flash of light. And ever since then, Yoko goes up the temple to maybe glimpse at the lord once again.

Yoko would not be looking forward to her first funeral she has to oversee, even more so if it was her best friend's. Shula has always flirted with danger(so Yoko thinks) whenever she goes out to harvest more fruit, but she can't deny the fruits of Shula's labor were simply divine.

Though Saluna might be one of the most devout priestesses of the land, Yoko still hasn't been able to become as devout as her mentor is. Yoko wonders if Saluna can read the skepticism in her eyes. Or if she should ever tell her about that whole Kukulcan incident.
