Biography
"Heya! I'm Hazard, but you can call me Hazard! I'm pleased to meet you, and I'm pleased to be of service." She is clutching your hands within her claws in a vigorous, headache inducing handshake.
"I serve as an apprentice under the Great Renald," she raises a hand towards a nearby framed portrait of an especially shiny obsidian Skydancer. "It is from her that I've been learning my trade." She beams proudly, you attempt to return the smile despite her frighteningly gnarly and exposed teeth and gums.
Taking a moment to scrutinize the well-acclaimed Renald's portrait, you notice another photograph nearby - it appears to include the aforementioned dark dragon and your current captor's own visage, with a third member whose face is completely indecipherable as it has been scratched out to Hell.
Hazard makes her way over to what you assume is her area of work. A large cauldron burbles as she rummages through nearby crates filled to the brim with what can only be junk from some sucker's hoard. A closer look at the cauldron does not reveal very much, but you cannot help but wonder what could be in there - did she not just utilize the community cauldron that Baldwin offered to the public? She couldn't have just stolen the unpredictable goopy contents of his work for herself...?
Plop! Your train of thought is interrupted when something overhead splashes into the pot. Droplets from the commotion sizzle beside your feet. "Ah ha ha, whoops!" the glittery Mirror bounds over, towel in claw. "I didn't realize you were so near, did any of it get on you?" A thorough inspection reveals you're safe and unscathed though you wish she had been more gentle in her search. You also believe you could hear a raspy snicker from over by the cauldron...
"Goo comes from food!" Your pondering is yet again disturbed as Hazard continues to speak. She leans on her cauldron and crosses her legs as if in a cool, suave manner. Her explanation is accompanied by very animated hand movements and gestures. "Both have an 'oo' sound, so that one is pretty easy to remember. It's just a matter of if you're willing to give up a delicious snack like that!" She pats her sparkly belly, then turns her body to face the brew. "Renald has the best tips, doesn't she?"
Still peering into the glowing goop, her tail lithe and prehensile extends itself over to another container and pulls out some sort of material. Almost as if a beast of its own, the appendage maneuvers its way back over to the pot, the object once held vanishing with a bloop. "Things like skin and body parts, and other organic bits of Sornieth melt into ooze. It's gnarly stuff." The way she speaks seems to indicate she's a big fan of 'oo' phonics.
You are now at the mercy of whatever lesson the Mirror has spontaneously thrust upon you. You already know this information, but hold your tongue.
Hazard taps a claw to her chin, wracking her mind for something she cannot seem to recall. A slither back over to the supply zone leads into more rambling. "Where is Renald? Oh, she doesn't operate here!" Her bubbly demeanor replaces her temporary puzzlement as she appears to have a spark of epiphany; she reaches into the box excitedly to snap up an object. A snappy spin around- THWACK! Her tail slams against one of the containers corners. All four eyes widen momentarily. The young dragon makes a steady march back to the cauldron, a book in one clawed hand, her throbbing tail in the other. She does not comment on the incident. "She lives out in the Nature territories, that's where she works." Hazard cranes her neck to gaze into the maw of her great kettle, almost unfazed by her ordeal, and drops the tome into the slop. The splash it makes is a large one.
With both claws now free, she is massaging the sore portions of her aching tail. She intercepts her own sharing of Renald factoids with more of the lesson. "Sludge is materialized not with materials, but with trinkets. I get them mixed up ALL of the time," the pale wyrm sighs. "Trinkets are usually things forged or carved, even written; but they can include body parts too, or leftovers from beasts lost to time." She frowns. "I hope nobody wanted to read that..."
