Biography

SOTO HALIFAX

It's hard to miss how bleak Soto's natural plumage is. She was born with a remarkable lack of coloration, which even went as far as her eyes: though the energy of Light burns strongly in her, she may sometimes fool dragons into thinking she hails from the Southern Icefield.

Despite her sickly appearance, she did not have to deal with superstitious dragons very often during her childhood. Aside from her father, she was one of the only Coatl in her family, and in fact one of the only Coatl in the entire village where she grew up. As soon as she left home as an adult, however, she met a great deal of discrimination wherever she went: others of her same breed would avoid her, and when their neighbors learned what those Coatl suspected, they would soon turn against her as well.

After being rejected and banished from three separate towns she tried to move to, Soto was left confused, dejected, and offended. She eventually gave up on her search for a new home and, soon after leaving, disappeared into the dark forests west of the Lightweaver's land. Rumors are spread about her now, how she has taken to wandering the Tangled Wood, working on mysterious brews... plotting her revenge against those who oppressed her. The knowledge of her backstory and her talent as an alchemist has earned her reputation among the small towns of Light and Shadow; one as an evil witch who preys in the darkness, creating vile elixirs and uttering dark curses upon those who come too close to her.

In truth, she's just sensitive to light, a complete nerd about chemistry, and has a love for excitedly spouting technical jargon about her work at anyone she sees.

Way to break the stereotype, Soto.
