Boudica
Boudica's past is largely unknown, other than that she was a great warrior and heavily devoted to the Gladekeeper. In fact, Socks and Ostara sometimes speculate that she was on her way to serve the Gladekeeper when she found Hades- not that they would ever let her hear that they were gossiping about her. She knows that they make up stories about her past, but it's too amusing to put a stop to. Anyways, back to when she found Hades. She found him in a dark part of the forest, filled with dangerous monsters and sounds basically, a completely unsuitable place for a seemingly newly-born hatchling. When she tried to take him out of the forest, though, some strange, invisible force stopped her. After some contemplation, she came to the tentative conclusion that Hades was one of those hatchlings born from the Gladekeeper's essence, a legend that Boudica had previously been so cynical of. But, now she had to take care of one.I have promises to keep & miles to go before I sleep. 
Boudica eventually figured out how to take care of a hatchling while also trying to provide for her newfound "son." It wasn't long, though, before he was old enough that Boudica felt comfortable leaving him alone long enough to visit neighboring clans. It also wasn't long before some additional dragons joined their tiny, ragtag family group. Two of them eventually left to go serve the Gladekeeper, while the other two, Beira and Socks, stayed. With her new family, Boudica was able to start to explore the forest and the various creatures living in it. Eventually, the Gang, as they were called by clans on the edges of the forest, gained another hatchling. Shortly after some of the members went to journey to the Behemoth, the Gang realized that they had left an egg behind...in a plague nest. After a long journey (during which Hades had to be left behind), a new member, Ostara, joined the group. Boudica eventually decided that Ostara should learn everything she could about both Boudica's and Beira's post, so Ostara became an apprentice to both of them. Boudica is, indisputably, the leader of the Gang. Not that she particularly wanted to be. The role was, for the most part, thrust upon her due to being the most responsible and wisest of the group. She is also the most motherly, although any outsiders wouldn't guess- due to her protectiveness, Boudica is very blunt and cold to outsiders, seeming more like a bodyguard than anything. In fact, to outsiders, it seems more like Beira is the leader out of the five. |
