"We can all begin anew.
The chains that bind us can be broken, even when it seems they cannot be..." |

mysterious • graceful • clever Why would a dragon such as Marsh come to a land so harsh? A land of snow and ice and cold, frozen hearts? Well, to escape her past, of course... Her father was a strange coatl, and he bore something heavy in his heart. A chain that tied him up in his own past and thoughts, a chain that dragged him and those around him down. Marsh bore this chain once, caught in her father's web. But she fled, vowing to run as far from her family and her homeland as possible. She found herself in the Southern Icefield, where she finally felt she could start over. After the death of her mate, caught in the crossfire of war, she began to doubt the distance she had put between herself and the heavy, constricting curse of sadness that weighed so heavily on her family... hails from the everbloom gardens if nesting, return to Dr3m1ly. |

Marsh was previously a mated hatchery pair with Pistachio, their nest name being, "Swampwater." She was pulled off the fodder market in my earlier days of flight rising.

The Scribe's Notes
"...Who was that?" The approached obelisk barks out a laugh as soon as the stranger is out of sight. |
"They practically ruined the package," Boulder snorts, sliding the package towards himself. "And it's for Deepwalker."
|
"Doopwalker." Mossstone corrects with a laugh. "I'll take it to her. I'm sure she'll be pleased, no matter what's inside. You know we don't get mail often." |
"Are you certain I shouldn't have it examined for dubious contents? Perhaps it's dangerous."

Okie dokie! Will mark you down as available to hold dragons.
As for breeding specific colors and gene patterns, this guide here helped me learn how to set projects up back in my early days as an enthusiastic FR breeder: https://www1.flightrising.com/forums/gde/2630512
When I set up Wayward Cross, I had a few projects behind me. I think the most important thing when picking up dragons for projects is:
1. Are you willing to gene the final dragon? If so, are you willing to spend large amounts of treasure and gems? If not, you may want to consider breeding in genes as well as colors. Though this takes more time, it can save you lots if you're willing to be patient.
That's why I prioritize gem gene dragons. They have the longest cooldowns, sure, but the odds of their genes passing is also the highest. And should you want a particularly rare color combination with expensive genes that you don't want to pay for, you're going to need to have dragons with genes of that rarity.
If you are breeding for a dragon that needs gem genes, or a gem breed, it isn't feasible to set up a mirror and a coatl and aim to get a coatl. Even when paired with limited rarity breeds, like imperials, rare genes and breeds have such a small likelihood of being passed on that, if the goal is a gem gene or breed, you have to be breeding gem genes against gem genes. So if you're aiming for a coatl with shimmer and circuit, for example, you'll need to gather a collection of dragons with the highest chance of getting those genes: coatls and wildclaws with genes like butterfly and glimmer.
If you're not breeding for gem genes, I find dragons with the highest rariry genes very helpful anyway because they have a very low chance of passing on genes when you don't want them too. If you want a dragon with malachite (limited), breeding it with a dragon with alloy (rare) is your best chance of getting a dragon with malachite. If you breed your malachite dragon with another limited gene - foam for example - the chance of inheriting foam is 50/50, which sounds really nice but when compared to the odds of alloy (97% chance of passing) you start to wish you had used alloy.
Unfortunately the drawback of rare breeds is their insanely long cooldown. Despite this, I have used them the most in my past breeding projects. They are the most flexible as long as you are willing to bear the cooldown. I have some dragons who have helped in multiple projects, such as AndesCandy and Nuclear.
And depending on who you pair them with, they can produce almost any dragon your heart desires. These two dragons, Azalea and Willpower are both descended from AndesCandy, even though they look very different!
