"All I'm saying is, is it really theft if they had already been dug up?"
Dziki didn't even pause in her walk down the forest path, her son stalking behind her while he pratted on.
"When you use magic to unearth them prematurely? Yes." Silvio let his surprise show for a second before he covered it back over with a smirk.
"Oh, so you know about that."
"I also know that you tied them to your wings and flaunted it in front of Nymphaea." Her gaze cut over to him, staring directly at the string of parsnips that looked suspiciously fresh. "You couldn't even hide them in a bag, dearest. Really?" Her tone sounded tired enough to manifest eye bags.
Silvio inched closer and impishly grinned, "I left some gifts in return, but I guess she didn't see those yet..." The little bits of gold were of no loss to a faerie prince, but what he did agonize over leaving was the small frog figurine he had found by the river, so if Nymphie was so distraught over a few vegetables he would call them even.
Besides, they looked magnificent on his wings.
The elder sighed, looking up as if praying to an unknown force for strength to deal with her unruly child. "I will smooth things over with her, but" Silvio cheered before being cut off "you will have to attend the gala next month and be on your best behavior"
He slumped down in disappointment. "Best Behavior" meant no sticky claws, no pranks, no filching, just being "perfect prince Silvio". Dziki knew he despised being reined in for so long and he has no doubt that's why she chose it as a punishment.
So now I lost my frog and my freedom, he bemoaned internally.
"Oh, and sweetheart" he looked back up, "Parsnips, really? She had some lovely peppers that would have complimented you much more."
Queen Dziki winked and left her beloved son to flap his wings in delight.
