Biography

Taw wasn't born. He doesn't believe he was, anyway. Taw was... made. Made by others. Created to be a vessel of sorts, he thinks. Taw doesn't really know for sure, because Taw's memories of his life are vague and painful. His first moments of awareness were agony. Thousands of memories (not his memories, he doesn't think), thousands of thoughts and feelings rushing into his unprepared mind, destroying him from the inside out. Too much, much too much, he couldn't handle it all. Others around him, making noise and touching him and making it worse. He just wanted to get them away, he didn't care how. They just needed to be gone, gone, gone-! But they just kept coming, making more and more noise, hurting his poor, overstimulated mind and body. It just kept getting worse, and everything became a blur of pain, of too much, of misery. More and more, every horrid moment of existence tainted by suffering, an endless torment designed specifically for him. A torture nothing can compare to. He's dead. He knows this. Perhaps he always was. He doesn't know. He doesn't particularly care. What he does know is that the wasteland soothes. It eats at the memories. At the feelings. At the pain. This is Purgatory, and Purgatory is salvation. Purgatory is heaven. Purgatory is home. Purgatory is dangerous, he thinks. It's supposed to be. He has seen others waste away. Seen others get devoured by something he can't see. There are the large ones, who dare hunt him down, but he is fast, see, he is strong. There are also those who are like him- she is. Pepillo. That is the name they call her, just like she call him Taw. Oh, indeed, there are those unlike them too, those who live in Purgatory, who are destined to get devoured, yet they defy that fate. Taw isn't sure if he trusts those who defy that fate. Purgatory is all-knowing. Purgatory made the pain go away. If they defy Purgatory, does that mean defy his healing? That they are the ones who inflicted it upon him in the first place? Taw doesn't know, and he doesn't particularly care. He trusts only Pepillo. Pepillo and Purgatory. And Pepillo trusts the mirror, so Taw will trust him, too. Law-runs. Law-runs is trustworthy. Only Law-runs though. Taw doesn't trust those others. Especially not those... strange-feeling dragons. They reek of Death, yet not. There's something wrong about them, and those others do not seem to notice or care. Strange devices, they bring, and Taw does not trust it. But Taw trusts Pepillo, and Pepillo trusts Law-runs, so Taw will tolerate it. Yes. Taw may not trusts those others, but they do provide a safe haven nearby for him and Pepillo. Taw will keep an eye out for the large ones, Taw will screech and yell and bare his fangs at them, because they threaten Taw, and they threaten Law-runs' way of life, and Taw will protect it because Law-runs is nice to Pepillo and him, and he enjoys the safety of the camp. Taw's mind may not be right, but that's alright. Taw knows what he needs to know, and that's that. | xxxxx |
