Greetings Father,
I am enjoying my role as Battlemaster for Matriarch Moonrun and First Consort WitCloud’s clan. At first there was a lot of confusion. Moonrun, though she excels at providing a welcoming and reassuring atmosphere for a clan made up mostly of adoptees, is not the best at considering options and skills for combat. Luckily for me, while she feels as a leader she must at least participate somewhat, she is not at all insistent on being at the forefront of battle. There are also the usual complaints from hatchlings that I am cruel and unfair to forbid Coli participation until I feel they are at least physically and hopefully mentally ready. However the real jewel of our clan’s combat team has been a surprise. An initially intimidating but ultimately endearing Aberration named BloomThorn – or as most of us refer to her “Bloom and Thorn”. Possibly partly because of her makeup (ahem, yes I am referring to the fact that she has two heads) all of the normal back and forth consideration that is internal for most, is completely external for her. Them? I think she was not certain that the rest of us would truly accept and support her. The first time PetalOfTheWind healed her in combat was such a turning point, and since then she has become a fearless, incredible warrior.
Wind Bless Your Wings,
Ossia

Greetings!
I'm glad you're making friends, that Bloom and Thorn sounds like a character! Nothing turns strangers into a team quite like a little healing magic.
Your sister Aria's still in the capital with the rest of her fighting grove. Apparently she's taking advantage of the library while she's stationed there, took out a stack of books on military history bigger than she is.
While I'm relieved Aria hasn't been called on to take her strategies off the page and into the battlefield, I have to admit, it's comforting to know that you've already tested your mettle with your new clan. I'm still going to worry! Don't you fret, I'll never stop fretting! But you've proved you can handle yourself, with skill and with care for the people looking up to you, and I'm proud of you.
Stay safe out there, kiddo.
