A somewhat timid Guardian, Luc was hatched into a Shadow Clan but was separated from them as a dragonet. He was taken in by the Infernal Clan after Tagion nursed him back to health. Thanks to his unique situation, he is incredibly compassionate and empathetic, often talking to Freyr about everything and nothing.

Luc was hatched into a small borderlands clan in The Tangled Wood. He grew up well cared for and happy, though he had a habit of wandering off to explore, often getting just a bit too close to the tangle of vines and infection that made the Plague-Shadow border.

One day, while darting between the vines, Luc heard dragons roaring and angry stomping and wingbeats. He peaked his head out from between the thorns to see his clanmates fighting with a group of Plague dragons he recognized from the clan on the other side of the border. Heavy talons slammed onto the ground next to his hiding spot, and Luc, startled, bolted out of the brush into the pestilent wastes.

Everything from there was a blur. The brambles and thorns scraped and scratched his hide, a dragon caught him by the neck, and he passed out. When he woke up, he found himself lying in a soft bed covered in bandages. The only other dragon in the room was a Ridgeback named Tagion, the clan medic. Tagion took an caring, almost fatherly role to Luc as he recovered, and helped him try to find his clan.

When their searches failed time and again, Tagion convinced Drakka to let Luc stay with them. Inspired by Tagion's compassion, Luc decided to become his apprentice to help him take care of the other dragons in the clan.
