Biography

This dragon is full of longing for someone no longer there. But who really left?

RP character!
Arcas

Nerfed lore: Soon starting off as a street rat, Arcas had a tough childhood after his werewolf father tried to eat him. He learnt to become another face in the crowd and started adventuring at a young age, offering his assistance town to town for money and learning how to fight and craft his own weapons and armour. He eventually joined efforts to guard settlements but his flighty habits kept him from staying for long, moving on to the next place that needed defending. The only time he was stopped from this was a romantic interest that he had forcefully ripped away, resuming his self-assigned duties alone.

Canon lore: Arcas was born of a werewolf father and human mother, giving him sharp senses and increased durability, agility and strength, particularly during the night and especially on the full moon. Soon after his birth, his father ate his mother, drunk on a full moon. He was saved by his aunt, who had gotten bitten in the process. Kayla, the aunt, raised him and his half-brother/cousin while keeping the nature of herself and their father a secret, fearful of the man that had killed her sister. Unlike Arcas, Faolan, his brother (character belonging to Natalic), wasn’t illegitimate and was treated kinder by the townspeople. One full moon, Faolan had his first shift, attacking Arcas unwillingly. Arcas ended up running away when Kayla revealed just what had happened to his mother and his father began tracking him down, set on killing him to keep the secret. Intercepted by Faolan on the full moon, Arcas ended up killing his father in order to save his brother, Faolan not realising the truth after he returned to human, thinking Arcas killed their father without proper cause. Faolan returned to a dead mother and struggled to survive in a town that hated him, while Arcas journeyed from town to town, learning to fight monsters and craft his own gear, eventually becoming an adventuring mercenary. Faolan was eventually taken in by the Royal Guard, the prince seeing use in him. He became one of the best Royal Knights and best friends with the soon-to-be king.

Arcas ended up meeting an elf named Neen (character belonging to Natalic), thinking the elf as annoying when they started following him after he saved them the trouble of being ripped off. Wartime between most races of the realm and humans had started and Arcas was wary of being attacked. Neen earned his trust by defending him from an orc and elf pair, proving efficient in magic. They grew close after that, eventually catching feelings for each other. When Arcas tried admitting his feelings, Neen shot him down, revealing himself to be the missing elven prince that had been avoiding his duties to marry an elf girl. Artenik, disguised as Neen, had realised he was gay and was really in denial. They have a fight, ending in them both crying and having to stop and comfort each other. They agreed to remain friends, Arcas escorting Artenik back to the Elven Kingdom to resume his duties. They arrive and Arcas is gifted a dragon’s fire, allowing him to shift into a dragon, and a place in the guard. Artenik held off marrying until eventually admitting to his parents that he was in love with Arcas. He is excused from his duties and shamed for being unable to continue the royal family.

Arcas is banished, returning to the human kingdom to try and plead for peace after seeing what they had been doing to other domains. Faolan meets him and immediately recognises him, demanding that he be sent away before Faolan kills him himself. The prince, now king after his parents died, decides to send Arcas to the necromancers that had been scourging the kingdoms, telling him that that’s where the true trouble lies. Arcas meets with elven warriors he knew and works together with them in pushing the undead back. It reaches a turning point when one of the dragon elves is slain and raised, Arcas having to fight off the much bigger dragon to save the lot of them. They meet the king’s army and team up, Arcas and Faolan bonding for a moment as they dismiss the dragon elf. They talk things out and Faolan forgives Arcas.

The necromancers had thrived off the war between humans and the other races, raising armies. Their goal is to turn the whole world into the undead. Sense is driven into the humans and Arcas returns to the elven kingdom with his brother and the human king to negotiate peace and a collaboration to beat the necromancers. The elves disagree, promising not to fight them but to not work together.

Artenik’s personal army decides to help and a few other elves swear loyalty to Arcas and leave to help him at the first round of attacks. All of them, including Arcas, are eventually overwhelmed, killed and raised. An elven priestess sees this and decides to split the world, forcing the necromancers and humans into a separate world from the rest. Many of the undead stay in the elven realm while war rages on the human half. Faolan is the last soldier to survive and makes a deal with a Goddess to reset the human world in order for it to survive.

Arcas’ body is trapped in dragon form, constantly growing as years pass by. Artenik refuses to let any attempts to kill him permanently succeed. Arcas is eventually reborn in the human world and manages to cross over, his memories intact thanks to half his being existing in the elven realm. Arcas and Artenik reunite and the elven royals begrudgingly allow them to be together, Artenik having grown to accept himself over the past thousands of years. Arcas helps cure any undead and create a door between worlds, rescuing his brother from the space between.
