Biography
Thanks, Then
Despite her name, Giving is actually incredibly selfish. She jealously guards her small hoard of seeds, coins, and soft fabrics. As no dragon has any idea where her hoard is, she's very successful.
A wanderer in many places, Giving was once as kind as her name implies. She gave food and fortune to any who asked of her, and spread happiness in her wake. Time passed, and Giving began to fade in power. She became unable to travel or give as freely and abundantly as she had in the past. But the same demands of her worshippers were on her shoulders, and so she gave what she could, just to see some happiness and relief on desperate faces. Until pilgrims seeking her gifts began to become fewer, until she saw no more new faces. A single family, grown rich on her gifts, were the only faces she saw anymore, and they were demanding.
She'd stopped wandering, tired by constant givings, and without her realizing it, the family had a massive wall constructed at the edges of Giving's perception, confining her to the family's lands and not allowing others access to her gifts.
Without joy in her work, Giving began to fade, remaining so still she faded into the family's gardens as just another ornamental statue. The day she fell asleep she swore to never again give so freely, to be confined by the demands of few. And so she slept, a cold promise in her heart, for centuries.
Until the birth of the Arcanist, that is. When his destructive beginning swept the lands, Giving was roused from her slumber, energized and alive. She left the garden, finally seeing the new and strange world as it built itself out of magic and blood and scales around her. Her promise to herself held strong, and Giving enjoyed exploring this new world in the shape of a new inhabitant without giving a single seed to another sentient being.
