Polaris is his stalwart protector and closest companion.

Shiva is always busy with something. As the Clan recordkeeper, his duties include writing up the schedule for egg laying as well as the estimated dates of their hatching, keeping track of food coming into and being eaten in the clan, and writing down any stories that the dragons want to share. Shiva always loved the stories.

Though Styx is his mate, Shiva's second favorite dragon is Viridian. The two of them made a good team. If Shiva needed some brawn, Viridian was always right there. If Viridian needed a question answered, Shiva would be there with the answer, or look it up if he didn't know.

Shiva had been secluded and cold when he had first joined the clan, preferring to keep to himself (much like one of the Imperials by the name of Shirokumo). It was a combined effort between Viridian, Azure, Styx, and Batai that managed to make him come out of his shell. Now he was happy to have his role as Clan record keeper, something vital to any clan. If he has a lot of spare time, he'll even make copies of the most important documents and hide them, in case anything should happen to the clan.

Shiva was born very fragile into a clan that didn't want him. He always got hurt as a hatchling and most dragons thought that helping him would be a waste of clan medical supplies. Because of this, he was kicked out of his clan to wander through Gladekeeper's domain, vulnerable to the beastclan animals that lurked everywhere.

Eventually, he was attacked and he barely managed to make it out alive. That was when he ran into Styx, his mate, while she was on one of her walks. After helping him to her clan to get healed, he decided to stay with her and the clan. He also decided that if he cannot be physically strong, then he should be intelligent instead and he started studying many things.

The dragon eventually got a role within the clan, documenting many things through scrolls. This included new hatchlings and the frequent coming and going of dragons through the clan. His den holds a wall dedicated to keeping the scrolls somewhere where they won't deteriorate and if anyone needs to know something about the clan, he's the dragon to go to.
