oh, the melancholy of shadehunting couldn't sink underneath helmi's skin. it was grim work. both of helmi's fathers were creatures born of pain, doing a thankless work. and though both of her clutchmates took up the runeblade, helmi could not. what good would it do? one more shadehunter, but at what cost? instead, she wanted to bring joy. it is so hard to be a light in the order; to say their dragons are not happy is not true, but they are always tired, always working. it is not uncommon for one dragon to have multiple roles, even if they do not partake in the hunt. downtime is for sleeping and eating, and not much else. but helmi is a light. she wants to make people laugh, so she does. she attends every cookpot dinner and campfire she can, telling her jokes, doing her little dances. and the joy she sees on her family's face is her fuel. she cannot get enough of it. which is why she was encouraged to leave. child, said the leader's shadescarred leader, you are squandered here. so she went. through earth's silk road she wandered, gaining coin with her stories, honing herself. earth is such a lovely flight, she needed no blade of spell to her name. but she wants a clan of her own, one that would love and benefit her humours. so she searches.
