both of aari's fathers succumbed to silence, and he was born into it.

his parents knows what it's like to win at a loss. both of them alive at so many other's expense. and now, just like everyone in the clan aari was born to, they hunt the shade in order to rectify the things that they have lost. that one saved will cancel out one lost.

aari was a good son. the first in so long, he held the runeblade and did not run from its power, did not scorn the responsibility that came with it. the order hadn't produced a new hunter in an age, and aari was it. collected. powerful. noble.

he could not outrun the quiet sadness that so often lands upon the order's shoulders.

it is thankless work, hunting the shade. even with their honed runes, their magic so fine tuned that it's almost outside the elements, sometimes it is just not enough. more often than they would like, the shade is squeezed so tight around a host, their only choice is to kill them both.

more often than not, the shadehunters that are born into it do not stay. aari does not stay. but he takes his runeblade with him.

his reputation proceeds him. it would not take him long to find work, as a hunter or a merc or both. but money is not what is on his mind, no. it is doing right. it is hunting the shade. and he is so imposing, his upbringing making his hardened and scarfaced, that no one even thinks to stop him.
