NIRODROMEUS A sad-eyed sorcerer king who rules over The Wood with a fierce cruelty. Born in a high and brutal court far in the south, Niro was raised to live and breathe the cold, harsh life of his homeland. Once a soft soul, he was crushed under the weight of cruel codes and and merciless aristocrats, yet, rather than bend, he shattered and remade himself into a twisted reflection of the people he despised. Now, he rules with an iron fist - his terrifying magic and dark, unflinching demeanor enough to warn off any challengers to his rule. |

History When he still lived among the court, a lord's son, Niro escaped the cruel world around him with books and spell craft. He shunned the glory of war and bloody hunts, instead spending his days holed away in the dustiest, quiet corners of the court, so much so that he grew pale from a lack of sun. Niro felt no love for other people - much preferring his own company and those of his books. However, as he came of age, he was bequeathed to marry another in the court - a girl of his age named Sibyl. Despite their distaste for each other, the two had no other choice. Yet, even with their different personalities, the two took comfort in their mutual disdain for the harsh rules of the court, and their dreams of a better life, and formed and unlikely partnership. Sibyl and Niro, although not in love, sought to work in solidarity to create a better life for their firstborn child. Yet, in the harsh land of the south, it was for naught. During a particularly cold and brutal winter, the higher echelons of the court hoarded what little the clan could produce for themselves, and their first child was among the many lost that season. In their agony, Niro and Sibyl made a pact - to upheave the cruelty of the court, and remake from the ashes a better world. For seven long years, the two raged against the court and those who would support their brutal ascendancy. Yet, in those years, what began as a pursuit of a better life became a murky road fraught with massacre, betrayal and loss. Niro was drove to distrust and pain, and under the constant stress, became as ruthless as those he had once abhorred. At the end of those years, all that remained in the land the court once ruled were Niro, Sybil, and their few companions, alone amongst frozen ruins and brutal cold in a small woodland. As the seasons went on, the forest, once diminished for the resources of the court, regrew wild and deep, with their kingdom at the center, ruled by a paranoid, cold King. |
