Biography

The Mage
a false prophet

"ashes, ashes, dust to dust, the devil's after both of us."

To the north of the clan, near the borders between Light and Shadow, the forest becomes dark and unforgiving. There's a relentless fog and bitterness to the atmosphere, to the point that it's enough to make one choke. Anyone brave enough to venture this far from the clan deserves whatever reward or cruel fate awaits them, depending on their reasoning for venturing so far away from safety and sunlight.

The neat cobblestone path and street lanterns fade into a broken down, uneven ground lit only by the occasional light of an Arcane enhanced candle. It's easy for one to lose their footing and their way in the darkness, and the fog becomes denser. It's a choking feeling, like the earth and sky itself are lying in wait, looking to swallow them whole. But to those that persevere, the fog begins to clear around them. They're met with a dazzling display of lights and candles, purple, pink, and a rosy red color. Mushrooms add accents of blue and gold.

A dark presence emerges from the trees. He's both elegant yet disheveled, clever yet clumsy, playful yet bitter. Like he learned from his mother, he's been watching the travelers' every moves, waiting for one to pass some unwritten test he's put them up to since the second they stepped foot on his territory. He has the same disarming ability as the rest of his adoptive family, and once he's certain he's got them wrapped around his thumb he flashes a grin.

"Well, well, well...it appears I have a guest. Pardon my lack of manners. I am Acheron." He holds out a clawed hand, his eyes obscured by the brim of his hat. The smile never falters. "Now, how may I be of service to you?"
