Komorebi

A nervous wreck, Komorebi is a blur of white when scared- and, unfortunately for him, this is quite often. As a struggling exorcist, poor Komorebi has surprised many a client with a squeak of "There's a ghost!" before they catch a flash of his tail fleeing back to safety. He just can't help it! He's terrified of ghosts, and he seems to only encounter the most violent and unpleasant spirits when taking on jobs. Maybe one of these days, he'll be asked to exorcise a friendly spirit for some exposure therapy... or something like that.

Some may wonder why Komorebi would instist on being an exorcist, even though he doesn't exactly have the nerve for it. It's because he comes from a long line of exorcists, and his parents are still rooting for him! He wants to be an exorcist, just like his family, but he's struggled with facing the supernatural ever since he was young. Some of his earliest memories are of his mother comforting him when he was scared by monsters in the dark.

"Dear Rebi, don't be scared," His mother cooed, gently stroking his head. "Do you know what your name means?"

He shook his little head, still sniffling.

"It's a word that means sunbeams filtering through the leaves of trees. And do you know why we named you that?"

"N-no?"

"So that you carry a little bit of light wherever you go. Never be scared of the dark, Rebi. You're your own little piece of sun."
