Shifting

Massive monster of the desert. Just so happens his baby weight is 666.99. Lurks under dunes using his massive tentacles to shift around. Incredibly hard to spot as he can sit and wait completely still for hours. Any vibrations made will be felt by the small antenna and frills on his head, as well as his many sensitive arms. Able to detect where the vibration came from, he explodes his arms up and around the unfortunate prey, ensnaring them and dragging them under the suffocating sands. Fortunately, dragons have learnt and spread the signs that the beast is nearby and very little deaths caused by it are dragons. Due to only living off small desert creatures and the occasional dragon, he occasionally uncovers himself from the sand, using sheer force and speed to hunt larger dragons and animals. Like a snake, large winding trails are left in the sand, which allows traveller's to avoid the direction of where the beast went.
