the world around you starts to crack
as the world around you fades to black
and the end it comes on tattered wings
as all around the fallen sing
something's here with you in the deep
rousing from eternal sleep
grinding bones and gnashing teeth
it rises up from the abyss beneath
your arrival made it start to wake
with its every movement the world will shake
but do not fear what comes for you
for surely it is frightened too
or perhaps not as ancient claws
rend the earth like jagged saws
it takes you along as it rises back
to the world above, there to attack
but you sense something within its gaze
it was trapped down there in a watery grave
knowing nothing but darkness there unloved
hating everything in the world above
so do you help it on its path
carving vengeance out in mighty wrath
or do you seek to calm the foe
and soothe it, ease it back down below
