Floors creak beneath weary feet
as the air begins to sigh
wind moans through broken windows
as the heavens start to cry

outside in the garden
dead flowers start to sway
while the wind picks up its tempo
at the passing of the day

the air here smells of sadness
and something old and chill
the soft ticking of an ancient clock
shatters what once was still

this place seems like it's frozen
in time or perhaps in hell
broken plates sit on the floor
where so long ago they fell

soft crying fills the hallways
even though there's no one here

Seek and you shall find
The key scrapes in the lock. With the shriek of hinges unmoved in years the door opens. The cheerful voices on the other side fall silent and you stand in a dilapidated room. A few pieces of rotting furniture sit in the center, armchairs surrounding a table with faded magazines piled on top. On the far end of the room are three more doors, and you wonder if it's worth trying any of them to see if they'll lead you out of this strange building. But then the room flickers with a cold blue light and you swear you see someone standing in front of you before they turn and melt through one of the doors.
