Meric's physiology, a plagueish mutation from proximity to the Wyrmwound, makes him uniquely suited even among spirals for the task digging and constructing new branches of the lair either underground or delved into the rotrock rim. He's known to help with the construction of aboveground buildings as well, on occasion, but his heart beats for the catacombs below.
