Biography
Moon is a dragon from the land of the Arcanist. Although she was given up by her natal parents, she thrived in the care of her guardian dragons, and spent her early life honing her natural abilities. Naturally intelligent and magically gifted, it was no surprise she would have a decent knowledge of teleportation. This type of magic - teleportation- of course, is not linear. There is always a large margin for error when transporting organic matter from one site to another, with mishaps occurring in almost half of all attempts.
It was one such mishap that left Moon stranded in a faraway place halfway between her destination and her home. Without her navigational instruments and guidance from the night sky above, Moon had no guide, no way to return home. It was because of this mishap that she found herself trapped in a horrible desert, hunkering down against the ever-blowing sands. For a reason she couldn't understand, her magic no longer came naturally to her; her spells didn't cast, her charms didn't work. She couldn't leave.
It was, perhaps, the dawn of the fifteenth night since arrival that she came upon a band of small dragons. Despite reaching out to them for guidance, she was met with claws and aggression as they all attacked, clawing and biting. Moon managed to fight her way out of the fray, but the webbing of her wings had been torn, and the harsh winds made it difficult to make much distance. The feral dragons pursued her by land, tearing at her each time she fell from the skies. After an hour or two of this pursuit, Moon eventually found safety on a ridge above, digging her strong claws deep into the coarse dusty sandstone, pulling her way up onto the small area.
The ferals circled below, occasionally trying to climb up to get after her. For days, they remained below, screeching and often fighting each other for dominance. Though Moon tried to use her magic, she was too weakened from the fight and the lack of sleep as she remained on guard. On the fourth dusk, the air was disturbed by the sounds of wings. Moon used her remaining strength to look up to see the newcomer, a small Nocturne who spoke to her and eventually, guided her from that rocky perch she had become certain would become her grave.
Although Moon was deeply unsettled by the desert and the other, sane dragons living here, Auxentius was kind and her kindness helped Moon adapt to life here. Even so, she remained jaded and slightly bitter at the fact that there was no way to leave or to even tell her loved ones where she was. With much difficulty, she eventually adapted to life here, but never lost her dream of someday leaving and returning to her home land.
