Biography
SPIRAL BREED CHANGE.
Mated to Tairo.
Mated to Tairo.
Quote:
Deep in the northern seas, where the waters are terrible and cold, are unusual crystals that light up the otherwise dark depths. They do so only in reaction to select lifeforms, namely the ancient cheloniidae which swim through in preparation for their mating season. Something about the intrinsic biology of these creatures causes the crystals to emit their light like a beacon, and I do believe it to be intentional, if not entirely sentient! For if any cheloniidae drifts closely enough to bump against the solid chunks of the crystals, the particles that break off and land on the shells and flesh of the animals begin to crust and grow as one expects from a parasite, although I have seen no change in the behavior or general condition of the host.
There is much to learn about the sea; but this is, I feel, to be my calling. I am fortunate in that my mate, darling Tairo, is understanding as to how this research has so firmly grasped my attention! I also must be thankful that, as maddening as patience requires me to be when the cheloniidae are away as their nature dictates, that I must travel back home for a season myself, to rest and to refresh myself with the one who supports me so well. To see Tairo again each turn of season is like courting her anew, so rich with wonder and romance! And so it is with the crystals and their interaction with the cheloniidae as well. I dare not claim what thrills me more.
Signed,
Aekolas
