— Mysterious echoes.

...Coal was a grey, orange-winged Mirror dragon that lived in the Starfall Isles alongside his mate, Naomi. Both are shrouded by mysteries and theories, becoming the perfect bedtime tale for curious hatchlings.
...As for the Little Clan's portrayal of them, most of the hatchlings' words came from the leader's son, Sylvester, since the paranoia grows within him whenever there are glowing mushrooms nearby while he goes on saying that 'It keeps whispering to me. It is evil', of course, that speech became a common saying among the children from the clan.

...Poor caretakers.

:: Traits
After all those years, which form would Coal's appearance take? As forgotten in the depths of the rotting soil, the only physical body was left behind amidst the glowing mushrooms.

And with an even further question, is this faint chirp the only current incarnation of him?

I remember first learning about the Naomi situation and getting to partake in a little plot with it, so it's funny to look back and see the start of this whole storyline I've made so far.

If not for my friend, I wouldn't stop and think about Coal so much- Well, look at where I am right now, with a Coal fan dragon itself. So that's my peak of Flight Rising fan dragons, huh?

This Coal is what I've gathered so far of Naomi plus Coal headcanons, so it follows among the lines of common ideas of interpretations of the Glitch Queen and King.

:: About Naomi
...It was said to reside in a small, unknown lair in the Crystalspine Reaches, which used to be Naomi and Coal's home. They lived unnoticed for a few years there, and none of the neighborhood could predict what happened on January 25th, during the second day of the Crystalline Gala festival.
...At that point, it became unsure if Naomi's lair was really in the Crystalspine Reaches or if it was in the depths of the Foxfire Bramble.

...Reports of local merchants started appearing one after another on how they'd received suspicious messages, claiming the sender wasn't the usual Courier dragons, as it was the previously mentioned clan's leader, Naomi. When arriving at the sender's said lair location, an eerie and invisible presence of dozens of dragons was noticeable, as if it was a land of ghosts.
...This occurrence sparked an interest in investigating Naomi for who she is, but when arriving for answers, she was nowhere to be found, and neither were her clan mates.

"It was quite a flight!"

This section relies heavily on speculation, as it has no solid evidence. Please keep it in mind while reading.

"Best Regards." - Naomi.
...Yet, this wouldn't stop speculation from the most curious, and the most plausible answer for this was that Naomi was a Gatekeeper of the dead or forbidden, perhaps led by the deities, specially Icewarden as it took place in the Ice festival, or some other mysterious and powerful entity. Some believe she committed a grave mistake, thus was forced to carry the burden of those exalted during all the time nobody would even know her clan existed, and by accident of the one who gave that role to her, it became visible during a moment for all of Sornieth to see.

"I wasn't there, so I couldn't see it."

The section below is through the eyes of Sonhador, as his views hold a mix of rumors and facts.

"What? You know I can't live without that, do you?" - Sonhador, the Curse Waker.
...While cleaning the Little Clan's temple, I saw some youngsters talking about the mysterious echoes within the Shadow territory, telling each other creepy stories. One of the topics was, of course, the whisper of the mushrooms. An old myth that began circulating after a flight our leader made to Wispwillow Grove, I went there alongside her and a few other members of the Little Clan.

...We prepared for the flight, but it was undoubtedly a long trip. Even Sylvester, our leader's son, the Tundra with the most stamina I've ever met, got tired many times on our way to the Shadow territory.

Shadow Territory
Glowing mushrooms everywhere!
...While our leader and I were dealing with some troublesome mess she got us into, not all dragons that came with us stayed closer, that's why one of them, Sylvester, came up with the perfect story to scare hatchlings; Whispering voices told him something that instantly alarmed even our leader since he's not the kind of dragon to do those types of prank. Sure, I may have used harsh words, and I don't fully believe it, but how would a deconfigured, seemingly-dead Mirror spend years sitting there without anyone noticing him? There was nothing in the place he told us to check, just mushrooms.
...I wanted to believe, just like those youngsters talking about it. I went back to that place without our leader knowledging it, I did everything to get the attention of said Mirror, and all I got was some bird madly angry at me for wandering late at night.
