A traveling merchant who frequently stops in Traveler's Rest. Aspen uses the Rest as something of a vacation spot, though he does own a shop on Harbor Boulevard and uses the T.R.A.F. to transport his wares. Aspen's is new money. His parents were some of the first Veilspun to return to wider Sornieth society, and they did so in a big way. His mother had brought some rare spice plants with her from the Tangled Wood, and made a fortune growing and selling them with the help of his father's newly established shipping company. When he was old enough, Aspen took on some of both of their duties as training for the day when he takes over the business completely. He had quite a nose for the spices in particular, concocting new and unique blends that quickly became sought after by chefs across Sornieth. He also experimented with magical plants, coming up with easy potion mixes that only required heat and water to activate. Though his potion mixes are growing in popularity, Aspen's personal achievements are still overshadowed by his parents' fame. Currently, Aspen is traveling the world on a Grand Tour. Despite all his achievements, he's still quite young, and only just starting to become independent from his parents (well, mostly independent). He owns a small bungalow in Traveler's Rest that overlooks the harbor. When he's not checking the state of his wares, managing his shop, or negotiating with the T.R.A.F. captains, Aspen is usually hosting a party of some kind. These parties can be anything from teatime get-togethers to all-night extravaganzas, but they all serve the same purpose: to get Aspen recognition outside of that afforded by his family. He wants to be known for his own merits, and of course, the best way to do that is to throw a legendary rager. |
