Biography
The Wonderland Midway
The Wasteland Fairgrounds
The minor deity of a place once known as "The Wonderland Midway", now better known as "The Wasteland Fairgrounds".
The Wonderland Midway had once been a place of joy for hatchlings and adults alike in the Tangled Growth. Originally owned, planned and built by Midway, when he was a mortal dragon with a mortal name. It was seperated into a main midway and 3 "Kingdoms", each overseen by a magical animatronic mascot; "Kid's Corner" ruled by Mortimer the Moth, "The Fantastical Game Garden" ruled by Cosmo the Capricious Nightmare, and "The Tempest Future" ruled by Bartholomew the Bat. He lived to make his visitors smile, and nothing was more important to him or his animatronics. Every moment of his life was filled with wonder and appreciation. Happiness.
However, eons ago, the beloved park was an innocent victim of the elemental wars, as the Scarred Wasteland consumed the park. The park visitors fled, but there was nothing for Midway outside the park, and he would save it or die trying. The rides were destroyed by plagues of rust and filled with the wastelands living earth. And the disease had no heart to spare him or the life's work that made him so happy.
But there was something... A spark. A spark of stubborn, persevering love, and purpose, that granted Midway a new life...
... Buried beneath the Wandering Contagion, isolated and trapped in the dirt among his beloved park.
Midway has gone insane after years of struggling to dig himself free, after the acceptance of the loss of his park and his life, and everyone he'd ever known in his life. He tries, and though he's managed to dig up and repair many of the rides and get them working again, he will never truly have his wonderland back.
His violent protection of the park has made it a safe haven in the wasteland for those who choose to respect and worship him, and many have. His worshippers eventually attempted sacrifice as response to his bestial nature, and he's grown more and more accepting of this, even going as far as to set up the ampitheater stage to make a ritual and performance of accepting them. He uses any magic he can take from his sacrifices to help fuel the park and its repair.
He has grown into a twisted, jaded and evil shadow of his former self. There is proof of something remaining by the state he keeps his nest - Surrounded by old photos of himself, his employees, the animatronics when they were shiny and new, park goers having fun, the rides - ... But that part of him seems to still be buried, deep down... Somewhere.
Based on that one dream I had.
