-Non riesco a capire nulla di queste mappe, sono tutte sbagliate.- Sapphire aveva fra le zampe un gruppo di pergamene e alcune penne di arpia infilate nella sacca, assieme ad alcuni calamai. Davvero non capisco, dove sono finita?-
Amethyst si schiarì la voce: Non troverai questo lair nelle tue mappe, Sapphire, è sorto recentemente. Se vuoi seguirmi, ti porto alla tua postazione di lavoro e alloggio.-Gli occhi di Sapphire si incrociarono con quelli di Amethyst: Non capisco, perché dai per scontato che io rimanga qui a lavorare, se ho già una casa, che per altro conosci anche tu molto bene?- domandò la tundra con la fronte aggrottata. Amethyst sbuffò: Te lo spiegherò poi, ora seguimi e fai attenzione.-
-E' permesso?- Zephyr entrò nell'alloggio di Sapphire, che ella aveva trasformato in un negozio/atelier/laboratorio da cartografo. Il posto era cosparso di bussole, mappe, pergamene, pennini e strumenti di lavorazione. -Ah, Zephyr, giusto? Il capoclan. Entri pure e benvenuto alla mia bottega! Io sono Sapphire e da oggi sarò la cartografa ufficiale del lair.- gli sorrise. Zephyr rimase a parlare con lei, da quello che aveva capito, era tutta una grande famiglia e tutti avevano un'occupazione precisa. Quando si allontanò da lì, soddisfatto della conoscenza, Sapphire si affacciò e guardandolo allontanarsi domandò a voce bassa: Sembra un drago molto buono, forse un po' ingenuo.-
Una voce rispose dal buio: Per questo dobbiamo fare in modo che nessuno si approfitti della sua ingenuità. Ci sono draghi in questo lair che non sono ciò che sembrano e nascondono segreti terribili.-
