Dissent is the eldest daughter of the clan leaders, Chaos and Maelstrom, and their only surviving offspring to have claimed a permanent place in the Avarice clan. Her two half-siblings by Chaos, as well as her full-sibling by Chaos and Maelstrom, were all killed shortly after birth by their merciless father as he sought to establish his dominance within the fledgling clan. Dissent received his favour by virtue of being his eldest and strongest offspring, and was spared an early death at his ruthless claws. Allowed to grow and establish herself within the clan she has become powerful in her own right, and is now counted among the oldest of the Avarice dragons.

Birthed early in the clan's inception, Dissent needed to demonstrate great talent and usefulness to be allowed to survive while they were at their most vulnerable. She fortunately inherited her mother's hunting prowess, and although she has no formal war training she is a formidable threat to the Sornieth wildlife. While Chaos and Maelstrom fended off threats from Beastclan warriors, shade-infested beasts and rival dragons, Dissent ranged further and further afield and honed her hunting abilities in a wide range of territories. A lithe, lean Mirror, on the smaller side, she is devastatingly fast and initially became a very adept ambush hunter, providing her early clanmates with fresh meat on a regular basis.

It was Dissent's wide-ranging travels that both helped to establish the Avarice clan further, and led to her finding a mate and expanding her hunting skills. During hunts in the Tangled Woods she met and parlayed with a fledgling Shadow clan, thereby laying the foundations for the Avarice clan's first alliance. Shortly after this the clan received Azrael, their Skydancer diplomat, from those allies - a dragon who would prove indispensable as they grew larger and more powerful. When Black Ice moved their territory to the Southern Icefields a further hunting and diplomacy venture led to Dissent meeting and courting her mate, a fellow Mirror called Havoc who followed her back to the Starwood Strand and then onto the Beacon of the Radiant Eye when the Avarice clan, too, moved their territory. With Havoc Dissent was able to engage in pack hunting for the first time, and the two Mirrors with their savage familiars were soon running much larger game to ground than Dissent had managed as a lone ambush hunter. She retains both skill sets today, as although she prefers pack hunting (and can now enjoy the savagery and effectiveness of a larger pack) some of her favoured hunting grounds still call for ambush strategies.

Over her time as the lead Huntress Dissent has formed hunting grounds in the Tangled Woods, Starfall Isles, Sunbeam Ruins, Viridian Labyrinth, and Scarred Wasteland. Of these hunting territories she favours Arcane, Nature and Plague locations, due to either preferred game or geographical features which suit her hunting skills best. She is one of the clan's most widely travelled dragons, although her travels rarely result in connections with other clans now that there are dragons within the Avarice clan who do this job more effectively. She is a quick-tempered, passionate, endlessly energetic dragon who revels in freedom, fresh air, and the thrill of the hunt. Similar in many ways to her mother, she clashes with Chaos and the two mostly avoid social contact outside of clan business. However, she is quietly close to her father Maelstrom.
