Iolanthe is an Arcane slime in the form of an Aberration. She can drain magic energy from various sources, including other dragons, and can disrupt magical devices. Thankfully, she doesn't always go around doing this.

She's more of a pet companion than anything, since she's capable of understanding some words but cannot speak. She is also very food-motivated and drawn to strong sources of magic. Magically gifted dragons and trained mages are warned to keep some distance from her and to not suddenly run, as she's known for giving chase to fast moving objects.

As risky as it is to have an anti-magic creature around, Iolanthe is helpful to the engineers and healers. She can use her powers to keep things from overloading and even temporarily disable dangerous magical creatures for safer handling.

Nobody's sure where the researchers even found something like her, but they're willing to let her stay as a part of the clan.
