Biography

Dr. Mellouv (MEL-ov)
_____________________
They/he/it | (Experimental) Biomedical Researcher
Harboring a very pleasant piece of the Shade.

Shade-touched. (One body, two minds.)
Dr. Mellouv faces episodes of consciousness loss, their conscience temporarily supplanted by the trace amount of Shade they were unfortunate enough to make contact with. Interestingly, hosting Shade does not make this dragon more volatile in any manner. In fact, in these moments, it’s typically calmer, with a more peaceful personality- the Shade debatably being much friendlier and more palatable than Mellouv is. Lapses in memory are common during these times, leading to an extensive (and rather messy) notes system sprawled across the two's office. A common workplace joke (one that hasn't made its way to the scientist yet) is that the Shade inhabiting their body is less objectionable in personality than Mellouv.

A neurotic individual.
To Mellouv, no dragon can compare to his sheer wit, no matter the topic, and he makes this known. He wholly believes that his experiments are the most vital work in his field and takes personal offense to insinuations that he’s anything less than brilliant. His opinions on those around him form quickly and are very resistant to change- his stubbornness could forever solidify you as an ally for holding a door open for him or as an enemy for bumping into him without apology.
The Shade has very little attachment to dragons, regarding everyone with the same uncannily friendly but distant demeanor, no matter who the dragon in question is. In any case, he enjoys company, and he’s a decent conversationalist, even if he seems to not care much for dragonkind as a whole.

Burdened with imagination.
They can’t admit to it, but they often run into success through sheer luck. Experiments done in boredom that were only meant to fail have succeeded more than once. They would be happy for it, if the lack of knowledge on how it worked didn’t drive them mad.
The Shaded seems to not care so much for research or knowledge, instead setting up intricate, seemingly useless experiments ‘for fun’. Remnants of many Rube Goldberg-styled machines litter Mellouv's lair.

Ironic attachment to a glowing mouse.
Dr. Mellouv and the Shade share their love of the rodent. Yves, as they’ve chosen to call it, is practically a research assistant, acting both as the rubber duck in their mental processing and as a furry friend available for serotonin-related stress relief.

Exalting Mellouv to the service of the Arcanist will remove them from your lair forever. They will leave behind a small sum of riches that they have accumulated. This action is irreversible.
