Biography
A tinkerer at heart, Sollune came to Trennore after an invention of his went berserk, forcing his birth clan to cast him out for fear of any future disasters. It is unclear what said invention did to cause such a serious punishment, as he is unusually tight-lipped about the details. Whenever asked, Sollune always grows somber and defeated, putting aside whatever he was doing to sit down, close his eyes, and tilt his head back, lamenting that it was "my greatest failure as an artist, no, as a dragon" and how "it could never be rebuilt, even if the fires of the Flamecaller licked at my heels".
One cannot say he doesn't have an affinity for the dramatic.
He is neither an apprentice nor a worker, yet Sollune can always be found at the Forges. Him and his two mechanical assistants flit about the Forge's many workshops and storage rooms, stealing material and testing his creations day in and day out, despite Bast's many protests. As a result of his tinkering, a small army of artificial creatures and assistants can always be found following him around wherever he goes. Counting them is impossible, as every time a dragon tries, new ones constantly appear and disappear, trailing after their creator as if they had always been there. Sollune has names for each and every construct and is perfectly happy to introduce everyone whenever the chance arises, much to the dismay of newcomers.
The quickest way to quell his creative frenzies is to bring up Venomon. Just the mention of her name causes Sollune's chatter to dry up instantly, his claws incessantly tapping the floor in irritation, sweat beading on his brow. As for why, that is still unknown.
He has yet to accept any projects or commissions, since his incredible skills are seemingly limited to pet projects and spur-of-the-moment ideas, but Bast claims she'll get him to see reason someday.
Maybe.
She mostly just wants him out of her workshop.
