Biography
Bright moonlight glistened off the statues littering the yard of the famous artist Einir and his wife. No one was around to see the slight rustling of leaves at the edge of the clearing where a sneak-thief was lurking, waiting for the right moment to steal into the yard and pilfer a small statuette. The tiny work of art would make a fortune for the dragon, and there were no witnesses. So, emboldened, the Mirror stepped into a moonbeam and boldly made to cross the yard.
A whispered, "What are we after?" made the dragon leap into the air and spin around to confront whoever had stolen up behind him.
But no dragon was there. Just a bunch of the lifelike statues that Einir was famous for. "I'm letting these monstrosities get to me," he murmured to himself as he spun back to focus on his goal.
A voice above the Mirror gasped, "Monstrosities? Brother, he called us monstrosities!"
The Mirror froze as a second voice joined in, "How rude! I'll have you know, little thief, that we are considered quite beautiful by proper visitors."
Rolling his gaze up, the thief found an Aberration statue standing above him, both heads pinning him in their intense red gaze. The three-eyed head slowly lowered to whisper, "Proper visitors are ones who come in the front door, and in the light of the day."
That was all the Mirror could take and he ran back into the treeline with a strangled squeal.
