☙Biography❧
Amarella they called her. A dark, spicy dragon with a heart of steel, who wanted nothing more than to help others. She adopted the pronouns "she" and "her" from birth, making it clear she wanted nothing more than to adorn her scales in gorgeous, bright colors and parade around in her mother's items. This amused her parents, who loved her very much, and led to her being spoiled from the beginning. Until a night when her entire world changed.

Nabbed up by a Guardian in a terrifying mask, Amarella was stolen from her parents sides in the midst of the night and taken to the heart of the Plaguelands. There she was cast in front of a dark Wildclaw and a war-torn Ridgeback. The Guardian spoke darkly, her voice seething, "Here, master. The one you asked for."

The Wildclaw nodded and stepped down to Amarella, "You will work for me from now on. A caretaker. If I see fit, I will let you go in the future. You will attend to the slaves and the hatchlings." Amarella glared at him, starting to speak until the Ridgeback beside him spoke up. "I would watch your tongue lest you want it to be used for fodder." Amarella gulped, terrified. She nodded, "I am Amarella... I... I will ser

The Wildclaw nodded, smirking to the Ridgeback. They left her there, cowering on the floor beside the Guardian, who looked at her with cold eyes, "I am Shaco and you will be my charge. If you do not obey... I will make you." The Aberration nodded, slowly sitting up, "Where am I to go?" The Guardian smirked at her and motioned with a claw for her to follow.

She was led out to the slave pens, where she saw the most gorgeous sight she'd ever seen. A beautiful Skydancer sitting on a mountain of pillows. He lay there, looking peaceful and quiet. That is, until he opened his eyes and looked toward her. His eyes were sad, soft... Broken. A chain lay around his leg, pinning him to a stake in the ground. Beside him stood a larger red Skydancer with a guard's uniform.

As Amarella approached, the red Skydancer stepped in front of her, letting out a low hiss, "Back away from the Royal." She paused, only to have Shaco step up and snap at him, "Back down Akkarin. He's the new caretaker." "She.." Amarella gently corrected. The Guardian looked livid for a moment before scoffing and rolling her eyes, "She... is the new caretaker. Respect her or lose your head." The red Skydancer looked down at her, his eyes surprisingly cold for one that should have been on her side, "Heh.. Cassius deems them in need of a caretaker then? About time. I was getting tired of babysitting them all the time."

Shaco rolled her eyes, walking away. Amarella stepped forward to the blue Skydancer on the pillows and knelt beside him, gently pulling a blanket over him. He turned his eyes toward her, the broken but gorgeous depths full of misery and helplessness. Amarella smiled at him, "My name is Amarella... You can call me Ella though... Most of my friends do..."

Finally, a bit of light entered those enchanting eyes, "Ella... A beautiful name for a beautiful lady. They call me Kohana.. I hope we can become friends.." His voice was deep, but not as deep as Akkarin's. It was enchanting.. Awakening something within her. Something familiar that she hadn't known before. This dragon, whomever he was, she had known him before.

She vowed to protect him.. She was their caretaker after all. Whatever this clan wanted with him, she would ensure it never got it.

Amarella sat under the dark, starry night, staring upward. Beside her she felt movement and turned her head. Beside her stood one of the guards, the dark and brooding Skydancer named Shade. She hadn't really met him yet but had seen him around the area. He sighed, looking into the distance rather than at her. Her eyes turned to look where he was gazing.

In the distance, a clan's lights burned bright, echoes of laughter and singing dancing on the wind. For a second, the smell of many foods drifted on the breeze, causing her stomach to growl. Shade's eyes turned down toward her. In a gruff voice, the scarred dragon spoke, "Go get something to eat, little one. You shouldn't be working on an empty stomach."

Taken back, the little Aberration nodded, her tail flicking lightly in confusion, "And what about you? Have you eaten?" The guard raised an eyebrow, tilting his entire head down to look at her. He said nothing for a moment, simply staring at her until she reached a paw up and waved it in front of his face, "Hello?" This seemed to amuse him as he lifted his head back up and chuckled, "Sorry. I got distracted. I'm fine... Go. I'll watch over them for now."

Amarella nodded, giving a small huff as she crossed across to the cooking pit, where a large Featherback Boar was roasting. The triplets sat around the fire, watching her approach. Lalwende grinned at her, her voice almost sing-song, "Oh tiny caretaker, can you feed me my meat?" The Aberration stopped, her two heads looking toward one another then back at the Imperial. She started to step toward the boar, only to have her way blocked by a very large body. She ran smack into the dragon's side, only to squirm at the mushy feeling on her skin. She backed away quickly, looking up at Nolofinwe.

"I do believe my sister asked you for a favor, caretaker. You didn't even bother to respond to her." The eye-covered Imperial lowered his massive head, his teeth crashing together directly by her head, startling the little Aberration backwards. She gasped softly, lowering herself down, "I-i'm sorry."

Almost the instant her body hit the ground, she heard a rustle of fabric and felt a large shape jump over her. Shade now stood between her and Nolofinwe, something that surprised the large Imperial. The much smaller Skydancer growled lowly, "Back off, Nolo. You know Cassius won't be happy if you kill her."

The Imperial snorted, "Why, she's nothing but a caretaker. We can find another one." The Skydancer growled again, flaring his wings up protectively, "Back off. You know I can take you." Nolofinwe's eyes darkened as he began to rear backward to lash out toward Shade, only to have a voice call him away.

Cassius stood to the side, his tail whipping back and forth, "Nolo. What've I told you about harming those chosen? Plus... It looks like Shade's taken a liking finally." The Skydancer bowed his head gently, fluffy tail waving back and forth in front of Amarella's face. She was really tempted to bite it, but didn't. Cassius turned toward the triplets, "Let's go. I have a mission for you. It involves those blasted Celestial Runners."

As the triplets left, Nolo paused for a split second beside Amarella, lowering his head to look at her and grin. With a flick of his paw, she felt searing pain across her flank. The next few seconds were a blur. All she heard was thrashing and snarling across the rocks. When the dust settled, Shade had Nolo's throat in his mouth, but his body was in Nolo's mouth. Amarella let out a gasp, "Sh-shade!"

The Skydancer was thrown from the Imperial's mouth and landed beside her, skidding to a halt on his feet. He lunged forward, only to crash into another large body. Arafinwe stepped down, placing his paw on Shade's neck and holding him down, while Cassius scowled in the back, "I swear, if you two keep fighting, I'll remove both of your heads." Nolo grinned again, withdrawing back to stand beside Cassius, "Of course, Master.. I will behave." The words were purred so beautifully that Amarella momentarily forgot that the Imperial had killed hundreds of dragons.

As Cassius turned, Arafinwe stepped away, removing himself from between Shade and Nolofinwe and continued silently down toward the Wildclaw's side. The other two Imperials followed after him, with Lalwende waving her tail at Amarella and Nolofinwe giving a teeth baring smile.

Amarella lifted her head to look at Shade, who despite what he'd just been through, was unscathed. He turned his head to her and licked the wound on her flank, cleaning it. "I'm sorry, Amarella.. I should've gotten you your food for you." The Aberration blinked at him, "Y-you... you know my name?" The Skydancer chuckled, lowering his eyes for a moment before looking back up at her, "Of course I know your name.. I also know your favorite thing to do is stare at the stars at night." Amarella's cheeks reddened and she leaned into him, pressing a thankful nuzzle to his cheek.

Almost immediately he caught her in a soft, breathtaking kiss. Despite being awkward and new to this feeling, Amarella felt a rush of happiness and.. another feeling of familiarity. She pressed her muzzle to his chin after the kiss had been broken. He sighed softly, warmth coating both of them. They didn't speak anymore... Instead letting their bodies warm one another while they ate by the fire.

It never occurred to her that there was such a brilliant light under all that darkness...
