Biography
The stars gaze upon the dragons gathered here, and Altair gazes back. Forever young, and forever burdened with knowledge. Taken under Luria’s wing, Altair flourished in her teachings. While Luria excels in that which is divined from the earth, Altair shines from the heavens. Finding answers from the stars, Altair leads those who are lost to where they will find comfort. Anyone who seeks his presence knows that they will find their home, so long as they heed his words.
Altair was an unusual hatchling, even when he was fresh out of the egg. His siblings were wary of his eyes, that seemed to gaze through them into their souls, and he often found himself alone. The older dragons, too, kept their distance from him, finding the hatchling unsettling. As though he was an eldritch child, they became fearful of Altair’s presence and cast him out.
He never truly resented his clan for abandoning him, for he knew his eyes were frightening from the glimpses into mirrors and still waters. How could they not? So he wandered from place to place, ignoring the stares that followed behind him. He wandered, a longing filling his soul, hoping to one day find a clan that would accept him.
Upon one night where blue light crackled across the skies, Altair wandered upon a smaller clan with many different dragons. At his approach, they turned to him and he finally understood what it meant to be accepted, for no dragon here looked in disgust or fear. No, they looked at him in wonder, they welcomed him with open wings, celebrating the day he arrived at this clan. And as he looked towards the misty Fae, he finally experienced that which he never had before, a loving family.
Luria taught him what she knew and marveled at his affinity, praised his skills, and gave him a home.
