Abyssa

The former princess of a clan of dragons that swelled deep within the Leviathan Trench. They were a cautious group, but were prejudiced to dragons who weren't water dragons. . Even though she was a princess, others would look at her with scorn, hatred, fear and worry.

She began to read about the world of the surface, and one day, her father noticed a pattern of her asking about the surface to the clans' warriors - Since then, she had been trapped within the camp mostly out of fear of something happening to her, that other savage clans will kill her on sight due to her status. No matter what she'd say or do, she was forbidden, and was isolated for quite a long time. It wasn't out of cruelty, but worry and fear. Going to the surface wasn't even FORBIDDEN or anything like that- it was just.....Frowned upon. Greatly. She was looked down upon, seen as childish and immature for wanting to explore the surface when she had duties to attend to here! No matter how she stood up for herself, she couldn't leave. She caved, and stayed.

And then, she met a traveling dragon - With....Strange, pink eyes? Curious... She didn'/t see pink-eyed dragons often! She knew them to be tricky dragons, with strange magic. This dragon was on the run, and needed a place to stay in. Abyssa knew her clan wouldn't accept this dragon, but...She did. She offered him safety in a cave on the outskirts of the clans' territory. He was extremely grateful - the cave then became protected by a magic barrier.


She'd sneak away to visit him almost every day. She'd tell him about clan life, and he'd tell her about his travels - above and below the sea!She became enraptured with the stories... And also by the strange crystals he would carry. Soon, her trips were noticed, but she'd always find a way around it. This kept up, until her father was too old and sickly, and she was to become queen. She wanted to become queen, yes but she still longed to be free - The clan was run so strictly&closemindedly. Out of fear. She wanted to change things....But she wanted out. She couldn't keep living like this. The arcane dragon listened to her woes, and understood. He wanted to help her escape. He didnt have enough energy though - Not YET at least. The Arcane dragon asked her to gather some things - And so she did. Strange herbs and gemstones.... She managed to slip away, before any of the warriors or her father would notice. The arcane dragon, using these things,,,cast a spell, and a portal was opened!

Abyssa couldn't believe what she was seeing -She'd seen the surface, only in old books. NEVER in person. And this...this place was BEAUTIFUL. Beyond anything her kingdom offered. The sky....The water, the moon reflecting off it the glowing water.... The arcane dragon just watched her, with a big smile - He'd not seen her this happy before. The way she looked now, her dark scales glittering in the moonlight... He was falling for her, and fast. It'd only been about a month since they met, and they'd confided so much in eachother. Even if he were to leave, he couldn't - he didn't WANT to leave her. He took her hand in his, and said this as they stepped through the portal, into this new world. "

"Its now, or never. Let's start over, and find a new home. You can leave them behind, never confined as you are now. A new name, and a new appurtenance - and no one will know. I will protect you."
