Octavia never considered herself to be the romantic type. She was concerned more about the safety of others than her personal life--at least, until this moment she had been. But even she had to admit to some behavioral changes within herself when in close proximity to Ovi. At first, she felt foolish for such feelings and the way she would gaze at him. She tried to stop herself from enjoying his presence, but soon she simply accepted the truth.
Jostling her mane slightly, Octavia shifted into a slightly more comfortable position. She was getting a bit stiff from standing around.
Ovi opened his door and took a few tentative steps before he noticed Octavia standing casually beneath the tree in his yard staring at him. Immediately, a look of concern crossed his face. "Good morning I hope?" he called nervously, then ambled his way over.
"No trouble today," Octavia clarified. "I just wanted to see you before my patrol." She brought her satchel forward and unfastened the flap, retrieving the plant held inside. She had found it earlier and decided to take it back for Ovi, as it was rather beautiful. She had taken the full flower, roots and all, just in case he wanted to replant it in a different location. Smiling softly, she offered it to Ovi.
"Silene tomentosa!" he exclaimed, suddenly breathless. He always said such funny words when excited about a plant. It was charming, really. "Thank you so much!" he cried, gently taking it from her and looking it over. "I shall treasure it always."
Octavia felt a fluttering pass through her body and let her smile grow slightly. "I'm glad you like it," she said softly. She grabbed her satchel and slung it back across her shoulder. "See you later."
"You're leaving already? Wait, is it okay if I accompany you? I'd like to walk with you for a while if that's alright."
Octavia nodded and Ovi hustled back into his house to put away his new specimen. He returned shortly after, and the pair set off on the patrol route, Ovi busily explaining his newest discoveries and Octavia listening with quiet patience.
