"Watch your step!" A quick warning startles a dragon into stopping, having barely crossed the threshold into the library. All along the floor were scattered books - some wide open, others tightly closed. Each had names written in various fonts along their spines, and some were in far better condition than others.A pearlcatcher could be seen fretting over these dropped books, treating each one like a priceless relic while he picked them up and placed them onto their respective shelves. As he did so, he gave the visitor a passing glance.
"Apologies for the mess," Embarrassed, he resumed his progress as a means to avoid eye contact. "I had been looking for Chute, thinking he might've gotten into the Lives section again, but-- Ah!"
Clearing stopped, having caught sight of a bookworm in his peripherals. Said familiar was lounging rather lazily on a desk, happily grazing away from crumpled up papers taken from a - now knocked over - trashbin.
"There you are!" Clearing huffed, marching over to the little thing and giving it a soft tap on the head. "I know you were not here ten minutes ago. Don't act all cute and innocent now."
"...'Chute'?" The visitor questioned.
Clearing turned to them with a sort of awkward smile. "It's short for Trash Chute."
He certainly earned a look for that one.
"Anyway!" Clearing started abruptly, wandering back to where he had been placing books back in their spots. "What is it you needed?"
Before the visitor could say anything more, a single footstep was heard outside the door they'd come in from, and Clearing had instantly shot upright with a scowl.
"Princeton if you come through that door right now I swear to the Eleven that I will arrange for you to watch the hatchlings in Halo's place for a while. And you know what happened last time."
There was a long pause.
Before a soft, almost jokingly dejected "you're so MEAN to me" was heard from the other side of the door, and heavy footsteps signified the guardian was walking away.
"Apologies, again." Clearing sighed, turning to the visitor.
"How in the world did you know it was Princeton out there?"
Clearing's brows furrowed in irritation. "Repeated incidents."
That answered absolutely nothing.
Speaking of answers...
"Now, without anymore interruptions, what did you want?"
