Jaran

A proud, some would say haughty explorer who accompanies trading caravans through difficult skies. Jaran is the grey head, who usually speaks for the both of them. The black head is named Felore. When in the company of other dragons, they'll never show any sign that they're not 100% in agreement. They save their arguments for when they're alone. Jaran is slightly more emotional and hot headed but also more charming and bold. Felore is just as haughty, but prefers to let his brother do the talking and is often more thoughtful and calculating. Despite their differences and disagreements they rarely bicker and work towards the same goals.

Jaran views airships with disdain. He's a proud flyer and thinks airships go against the nature of a dragon (glossing over those dragons that can't fly). His work entails guiding and guarding small trading bands while they fly to a new destination, but with the development of airships he doesn't get as much work. Airships tend to fly higher, where there are less perils, and often have cannons or shields to protect them from sky raiders. Jaran laments the fact that these things are making him obsolete.

While he's a Lightning dragon, stormy weather is not his forte. The electric fields created by thunderclouds mess with his senses and cause him to lose focus. This lightning sensitivity does help him to navigate, as he can sense Sornieth's magnetic field to determine where he is.
