Hex was severely bullied by his old clanmates, they were proud tricksters, but he was never like them. He hated pranks, and they failed to see that. They didn't realize how much those pranks hurt him. Until one prank that backfired horribly. The plan was just to scare the spiral, but the prank caused a small explosion as Shadow and Arcane magic collided, Hex was caught in the middle and the mixing energies disturbed his inner magic. Causing Hex to lose his touch with Shadow, but giving him the power to control arcane magic.

Hex fled Foxfire Bramble after that, wandering around the lands, scared and alone. He eventually found his way in the Arcane lands, where he collapsed from exhaustion. Later, he woke up inside of a small library. The librarian and her Enchanting Goblin greeting him gently. The trio quickly befriended each other, Hex liked his stay in the library, but there was still an empty aching void inside of him. During this time, he developed a nervous habit of balling up when he started to feel anxious.

Years later, a slip of paper magically flew inside. Advertising the Adventurer's Guild. The librarian convinced Hex to try it out, and to make their parting easier, the Enchanting Goblin decided to join him. He ended up making the cut by showcasing his trap-making abilities, he likes his new life, but Hex still actively visits the librarian.
