Biography
Ysbrand Cocytus
The Broken Guard
"They could not handle the vigor with which you did your job. They could not handle the claws and fangs you turned to their cruelty and corruption. They could not handle you, so they left you here."
Ysbrand looked up to the burning figure before him, the dragon Samael. The dragon spoke of Ysbrands life. And of how he had balked at the imprisonment of Rodric Cruikshank, standing up for a dragon who had delusions like he secretly did. Not long after the imprisonment of Rodric, Ysbrand attacked the other guards, which distracted them long enough that Rodric and Loon escaped.
For his treachery, Ysbrand had been condemned to this cell, left in chains deep beneath the surface of the Southern Icefield. The gaoler had not seen the sun in over a year. He huffed. He nodded. The idea of speaking felt strange now, after so long.
"I'm going to bring you someplace better," Samael said. He motioned his hands to direct his magic to the chains on the wall, heating them until they melted. He then motioned his hands again, and opened a portal to freedom in front of the bewildered but very relieved gaoler.
---
Ysbrand is a dragon with a demeanor similar to a powerful beast. A year of isolation has left him rather broken-minded, but he is able to find solace with his clan mates who have gone through similar ordeals. He fights for his own ideals alongside the clans militia.
Despite his appearance, he is rather reserved and soft-spoken. He would rather have his actions speak for him.
