Hatchery Caretaker She/Her | Ice | Ball-Jointed Bogsneak "Misfortune is her name, (nicknamed "Miss" occasionally), but more often than not, people think her name is "Miss.Fortune", as she is a sort of authority figure and addressing her this way shows respect towards her position. The middle-aged wildclaw never corrects them, smiling kindly and waving off the mistake with a giggle. Honestly? She quite likes this "mistake", as it gives her a bit of hope- not everyone is called Misfortune without a backstory behind it. See... when Misfortune was just a child, a tiny little hatchling, she literally attracted all sorts of mishaps, and overall, had the worst lucky imaginable. It was as if Murphy's First Law: "Anything that can go wrong will go wrong", was a physical entity that clung to her like glue. Luckily, it wasn't- she was just... highly unfortunate. Poor child went through so much pain that she could fill at least an entire book's worth of rather unlucky memories and accidents that- to this day- she blames herself for; even if it was beyond her control in every way, shape and form, Misfortune holds a sort of "survivor's guilt". To combat this guilt (which, once again, was beyond her control), Misfortune took up a position in which she could directly interact with the most vulnerable members of her Clan- hatchlings. The gentle wildclaw has a soft spot for the youngest members of the Clan- any clan- and her motherly disposition makes them all quite comfortable around her; As a 'bonus' of sorts, when around the hatchlings, Misfortune has the peace of mind to know that no ill will befall the children- because if anything bad happens, it will happen to her." -KyuuBird |
