Biography

big-divider.png

Original leader of the clan, first of her line, and mother to Oilspill. Darkwind is wise in her years but as deadly as ever. Despite no longer being defacto leader she still helps Oil with important decisions and leads the defenders as well as the hunting party. Cunning but compromising, Darkwind was known as the terror of the wetlands before settling down and becoming the leader of this ragtag group of dragons. She was always a ferocious protector of the clan, hence why she was originally voted as leader. Venomtail, her mate, she met while fighting a battle over territory with another clan. Despite him being on the opposite side, she was impressed with his skills as he was the only dragon to ever match her in combat and he left his previous clan to go with her, though they didn’t start officially courting for several years. One day, well after the clan’s creation, a small blue dragon was found off the riverbank near the fishing hut. Darkwind was called to inspect it to decide what to do and to everyone’s surprise it was still alive, though barely clinging to life. It was quickly rushed to the healer and as it recovered Darkwind watched over it, deep in thought. The hatchling was like no other she had seen before, long like a spiral, but with fins. Darkwind was impressed it had survived this long on its own and knew right away it would grow up to be a good fighter, so she took it in as her own and raised it alongside her only hatchling she had with Venomtail. She is proud of the way she raised Oilspill and the strong dragon she’s become, taking after both her parents despite not being theirs by blood. Though the same can’t be said for Stormchaser, Darkwind is disappointed that she relies so heavily on Magic in combat instead of her own strength, and this has caused some tension between the two siblings.
