Anadela

Anadela, Anadela... The lost and the found. The one torn apart by a clan's pride, and who refound herself and her values in a new, chosen family.

She grew up in a harsh, cold environment. There were trappings of kindness - especially around others, but when alone... emotionally distant was a good way to describe it. She wished for a twin, for a sibling, for anyone who would understand, but such things were not meant to be for the mirror. And despite her best efforts, every action she took was seen to have bad intent - "She's a mirror, aggressive, what else could you expect?" They'd say. Until she nearly gave up trying. Being kind was hard. Being kind, and being told you were horrid for it, is even harder. And of course, pride. How could those who raised her ask for help? That wouldn't look right. So they never did, even when they struggled with a hatchling who felt emotions far too strongly, who was impulsive and reactive, one who was lost in the clouds more often than not. Who wasn't normal. So she grew up quiet. Reclusive. Isolated. She grew up timid and fearful, without a voice, for she never spoke.

Fortunately for Ana, the clan she was raised in was not the one she was deigned to remain in. Given an opportunity to study elsewhere, she took it - jumped at it. "Wouldn't it be prestigious, and reflect well on you?" She pleaded, voice rusty.. the first time she had asked for something in many years.. and was allowed to go. And the day she stepped out of the clan's territory, she knew it likely would be the last, for she had no intention of returning.

She studied for years - struggling to relate to those around her and struggling to connect the way others seemed to so easily. Sure, she could communicate. But her brain would leap past conversations, get lost in the fog of imagination others never seemed to see. And the scars of her first clan remained - she was fearful, knowing others could walk away as easily as her parents had so often, knowing that to many, her thoughts would not matter. Her voice wouldn't, either.

Luckily for the timid mirror, things were not to remain that way. During her time studying, Serai found her - the bold, ever so overly confident nocturne deciding that Anadela needed a bit of help. They stayed together a while, Serai trying to build up Anadela, trying to help her find her voice.
