Virulent Brood | Matriarch | Ambitious
she/her | lesbian

___plaguev2.png
In the days before the Guild, the Virulent Brood - a pack of Plague Wildclaws - claimed the land about the quarantine zones as their own. Now, the pack operates as an extension of Emperor's Bane's extensive Field Division, inhabiting a settlement just outside of the Guild's walls. As the current matriarch of the Virulent Brood, Nyctophobia is easily one of the more dangerous dragons in connection to the Guild. With wit sharper than a polished blade's edge, she's not one to be taken lightly. Nyctophobia takes extreme pride in her pack's combative abilities, and will do whatever she can to make sure they come out on top. Merciless in battle, she takes delight in triumphing over adversaries, and many of her battles can be better likened to a predator toying with its prey before going in for the kill. Having proven herself through years of fearless and ruthless ruling, she's viewed highly by her pack, who trust all that she says and does. Conquest over all else is what Nyctophobia lusts for ... it is consuming her, and may eventually consume the entirety of her pack as well.

When Vultur and her associates first came to the land that one day would house Emperor's Bane, they made a treaty with the Virulent Brood. The Guild would be built on Wildclaw land, and the pack would have access to the Guild's resources and assist them in their quest for justice. The previous matriarch of the Virulent Brood - the dragon who'd originally signed the alliance treaty - kept she and her pack at an arm's length from the Guild, insistent on operating more or less on their own, providing for themselves. But Nyctophobia saw her leader's choices as foolish, amateur. Emperor's Bane was an opportunity for the pack to grow stronger than ever before - and it would be wasted under Virulent Brood's current leadership. Nyctophobia challenged her leader for the title of matriarch, slaying her and ushering in a new age of conquest. She heavily increased involvement between the Guild and her pack, cementing her Wildclaws as core members of the Field Division. At the same time, she began attempts to become closer to Vultur herself - which has led to a covet affair between the two dragons. Nyctophobia believes that she has the Mirror wrapped around her claw. In her eyes, the Guild is a means to an end ... without the Virulent Brood's support, Emperor's Bane would crumble. However, her overconfidence may wind up being her downfall ...

NYCTOPHOBIA______
Vultur's affair with Phobi is a manipulative arms race. Both are convinced of their power over the other. It's unlikely that they hold any real affection towards eachother.

OAMLLYA______
Vultur's loyal and trusted scout, always perched atop her shoulder. She turns a blind eye to his immoral doings as long as the Guild prospers.

ARROWHEAD____
Vultur's protégé and personal attendant. Taken in as a hatchling, the stunted Imperial does any and all things the Mirror commands.

FAMILIAR__________________________________________
Vultur's favored familiar is a Flesh Forager. Vultur has gone though several birds in her time as Guildmaster of Emperor's Bane, the current of which being named Carrion. Her packs used to raise the raptors to assist in hunting and sending messages, a tradition that Vultur alone maintains. She buys the trained familiars from a respectable falconer settled on Rotrock Rim, taking the journey herself on foot. Carrion is extremely well-trained, able to follow his dragon's complex orders to assist with Field Division work - and also has no qualms with attacking on command. As Vultur directs her troops on the ground, Carrion circles above her, giving the Mirror an extra set of eagle-eyes.
