Henry is Lily's first son and as such is coddled and fussed over as though he were still a hatchling. His brother, Louis, was exalted, serving directly under the Shadowbinder; of course, Lily and Reiner are proud, but treat their remaining children like royalty to compensate.

Reiner tried to teach Henry to be a warrior like himself, but Henry is far too timid to involve himself in any sort of fighting, even if it is for the sake of the clan. He faced ridicule for his cowardice from some other clan members and he spent a while pushing himself to be a bolder dragon, but eventually found his place in catching insects. His role suits him and allows him to do something for the sake of the clan. Sometimes, when his clanmates are feeling down, he'll seek out their favourite insect especially for them; he inherited his kind-hearted nature from his parents.

He is one of the few dragons in the clan without a pair bond or mate, but he prefers it that way.
