Scorn

In the catacombs beneath the temples, there are things worse than monsters stalking the empty halls. The dead roam as if possessed, and those unlucky enough to be spared the mercy of death have become twisted and malformed, corrupted by strange forces from beyond this world.
At the heart of it all, a great beast resides within the innermost sanctum. Locked and guarded behind rabid guard dogs and magical barriers of living death, she waits. She does not sleep, she does not eat, and she cannot die. Cursed to a fate of eternal decay, she has rotted away for centuries until nothing was left but the plague that gripped her flesh. She is known only as the Scornful One, for even the gods have turned their backs to her.
