the dragon who started Café Michigan, the brains behind travel between worlds, was never from Sornieth in the first place. in fact, he came from an entirely different universe. introducing Nines, CyberLife’s best prototype android hailing from a futuristic earth which humans and their robot (but not any less human) counterparts lived side by side. he loved his world, and having fought in the android revolution of 2038, he was proud to say he was a part of bringing androids both machine and deviant the freedom they deserved. Nines spent the next few years of his life furthering his research regarding other worlds, searching for any lead that could prove their existence. He was aided by the Jericho crew along with his beloved Connor, and their efforts paid off, with a singular portal opening to a totally new dimension.

but because it was untested and it was unknown if it was safe at all and if the traveller would survive, the rk900 volunteered himself for the job, despite the wishes of his friends to remain behind. he trusted his work, and promised that should he survive, Nines will return to bring the willing with him. it was more of an “i’ll see you again soon” exchange, and with a brave step forward, he vanished into the portal, which had remained active after he crossed. the Jericho crew built a secure place around the portal, sealing it up properly while avidly waiting for Nines’ indeterminable return. lucky for them, their friend was alive and well, setting foot in the unknown.

Nines found himself in the Arcane Flight’s domain, his bright blue eyes tinted with pink as a strange aura of symbols surrounded him. behind him, he could see the portal, but decided to leave it be for a while. he marvelled at the sheer beauty of this new world, and claimed the land he stood upon to be his home. knowledge of the world flowed into his systems, Nines taking it all in, unable to understand the power that allowed him to know almost everything about Sornieth. it didn’t take long before he acquired a new form, an all-black Fae male. for once, the android knew flight, the freedom of having the wind beneath wings. he could easily switch between forms, sometimes meeting midway as an android with Fae wings.

Nines used his time to grow his clan, to continue his studies, creating new portals and bridges between dimensions. thus Café Michigan was born, the name originating from the state where he lived. after a while, people from his homeworld began to transit to Sornieth to join him, hybrids of human and dragons. whether temporary or permanent, the clan welcomed visitors from all over. Nines takes his place as the leader of this wonderful family of dragons, though sometimes he returns to his place of origin to check in his friends. he’s proud of his work, and continues to perfect his technology, always pursuing the best and the good for everyone.
