Did a thrill-seeking soul come out
to play beneath the starlight.

Tales and warnings
from elder beings
within her mind had rang.
To no avail, to their dismay,
she still came out to play.

Beasts of night she would invite
to join her in her playtime,
and a cunning creature came to like her
after her blissful call.

This beast would try to scare her off,
to see her cry and run.
In her eyes terror he sought, horror he brought,
but joy would be in its stead.

For once, he knew,
he could start his life anew,
he found that dreadful of him were plenty,
but blissful were very few.
