Founder of the Fungus Infectus Clan, which makes its subterranean home along the eastern edge of the Scarred Wasteland. Manipulator of afflictions and practitioner of fungal magic, his proximity to the Tangled Wood caused some mostly beneficial mutations as he grew and carved out his home in the tainted earth. Sporewing was eventually attacked and weakened by shadow dragons, and then seduced by a fierce mirror dragon named Scourge who initially sought to take his home. Several of their descendants remain in the clan today.

He and Scourge still remain in supervisory roles to ensure the health and wealth of their kin, but most of the daily operations are left to Zuldazar and Zim'Torga and a few other trustworthy dragons as the large guardian spends much of his time resting between battles and meetings. Though his protective instincts remain strong, his mate is often away from home, so their son Ikker often serves as a personal bodyguard and security enforcer.

While Sporewing is often somewhat slow to anger and react, he has honed his unique skills over many years and can endure long encounters through special restorative abilities. He willingly imparts his wisdom to younger plague dragons, and enjoys their company; other flights can bribe him with tasty mushrooms. Visitors should take special care to remove the spores from their hides and apparel afterwards, otherwise they might find themselves (or other creatures they come in contact with) covered in strange growths and possibly losing their minds to madness.
